Richard Erickson: Bio
I studied music at the University of Minnesota and privately in London with teachers from the Royal Academy of Music and the Guildhall School of Music.
The London Connection
I moved to London in 1988 and formed the band ac cent ric ity
which I composed music and played piano, performing in London clubs and basements -- 606, Freuds.
London - The Home Of Theater
I co-wrote, composed music and was Music Director for the musical "Lucky Winner" staged at the Man in the Moon Theatre, London, in 1999. Composed songs, incidental music and was Music Director for " A Cautionary Tale - Goblin Market" a play staged at the Royal National Theatre in 2001. Composed music, wrote lyrics and played piano in the orchestra for the musical "The East End of Chicago" staged at the Stratford Circus Theatre, London, in 2004. Composed "Ballet for Strings and Percussion", performed at The Place Theatre, London, 2008 and played for ballet companies including Mark Morris, Bill T Jones, Alvin Ailey, Harlem Dance Theater and Rambert Dance Company.
Since returning to the U.S. in 2012 I have composed music to help promote Patrick Coyle's recent feature film "The Public Domain", composed corporate music, and have recently composed the theme tune for the upcoming YouTube series, "My Neighbor is a Ninja", currently in post production.
